The members of NZTrio are each involved with different aspects of the 2011 Michael Hill International Violin competition. NZTrio violinist Justine Cormack will be presenting sessions of The Insiders Guide to the Competition throughout the week, both in Queenstown and Auckland. NZTrio pianist Sarah Watkins will be performing in Queenstown with Joseph Spacek in the opening recital, as well as with 9 of the 18 contestants in rounds I and II on June 4-6. NZTrio cellist Ashley Brown will perform piano trios in Auckland with the 6 semifinalists in round III on June 8 and 9.
On this final night, NZTrio violinist Justine Cormack will present the final session of The Insiders Guide to the Competition, in particular focusing on the challenges the competitors face in this final concerto round.
At 7.30pm, the three finalists will then perform concertos with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.
