11 May 2010 : Treasures from often uncharted waters
(Relevant excerpt from a compilation review of concerts within the World Music Days) NZTrio brought music from both sides of the Tasman, much of it commissioned by or written specifically for them. It made for an interesting contrast with programs generated from the mixed-bag ISCM submissions.
There were few surprises but NZTrio's performances were consistently well-polished, persuasive, enthused even. Jack Body's Fire in the Belly was the highlight fro me in a fascinating range of works. Bravo.
