Helix released on CD
01 April 2011
Rattle Records have released a new disk Helix that features NZTrio performing the piano trio Helix, a work commissioned by the trio in 2006. The performance has been described by New Zealand Herald reviewer Wiilliam Dart as one that 'guarantees goodsebumps' and he rates the album 5 out of 5.
Featuring chamber music of John Psathas, Helix is a truly 21st century album. Inspired by an eclectic range of musical interests, the album takes the listener on a millennia-leaping journey, from the sounds of the ancient Mediterranean, through the dance music of 18th century Italy, to the latest dubstep and drum’n’bass beats of 21st century South East London. The album features stellar performances by NZTrio, the New Zealand String Quartet and Donald Nicolson.

2011 NZTrio Auckland Museum Series
01 March 2011
Hear NZTrio perform in five concerts at our 2011 Auckland Museum Series. Following on from our celebration of Schumann in 2010, this year we will be weaving works of Johannes Brahms through our 4 concerts in the museum's Auditorium.
In addition, we are presenting a special NZ Music Month concert in May – a celebration of our favourite NZ compositions, to be performed in the museum's Maori Court.
